Finally able to post on We-R-Artists

I finally took some time to post on the art groups facebook, Carol Kerfield asked who is Joe Muehlbauer, wow so fast for a response. The articles about me, We R-Artists and Alice Cowley in the local newspapers.

Art Crawl

Well the art crawl was a lot of work, climbing steps, frame others art, hang it, sell it, haul it, 2 days of lookers, only made 3.00$, the snacks cost 25.00$, I'm in the wrong business. But art is so much fun..............

time off!!

HI, I just want some time off to enjoy what I want, no cooking, no cleaning, no caring for others, just quiet, creating maybe, just sitting, maybe reading, maybe..................

What a phone calling art day!!

What a day, I got a call about the artists who will be in the art crawl, the St Cloud art directory and dept of the ads want bios and info from each artist for the art directory, so had to type, call everyone for permission to print ect, then a call from Citizen News in Becker, they want to write a feature on Alice, that's cool, so  they needed a photo and all. St Cloud needed a photo, I have to get organized so it wouldn't take so long next time, ha ha. Lavona brought over cookies she made for the crawl, they are so good, one is left, they leave a craving for another one in your mouth when you finish. Just like Mom's drop cookies, love it. Maybe now I can create something fun..........................

Interview!!

Wow, Dennis Dahlman called today for an interview of my art and the art group!!!  It will be in the paper Friday.
Took me 2hrs to get the photos he wanted, I have great confidence he will do a great job.

Hi, it's summer. so hard to sit and create!!

I am busy with creating the garden, plants ect then I started creating lemonade with orange slices, then I created a great marinade for BBQ, I guess I'm creating.........................

No art creating today

Sending out emails for the art group meeting, art crawl news and feelers for an article about the group, email to Vicky about glass paint, talked with Stacey about art and the group activities. Rich is still  in pain from the surgery and tired.

I love doing art!!

I love doing art, not doing art shows, there is nothing better than creating a piece, I just don't like sitting behind a table and selling, comments about my art is nice, but creating is the best.

Sorting the art books

Emptied a shelf of books, started to sort them by topic, well I have 10 to give away, but have to find a new location for my books, arts, crafts, gardening, to read,  I did find a home for the wine rack and wine bottles..

Been gone for a while

Family activities have absorbed my time, all is well now, but my creativity will be more time gardening than canvas works.

Creating with grapevine cuttings

Well it was a day of cutting the suckers off the apple tree and trimming up the grapevine.  As the vines lay on the ground, I decided to take a try on making a wreath.  Well it took a bit, but I made two, winded and turned the vines on itself, I think I did a grand job.

No art today, just cleaning windows and screens, makes a whole new world look outside..............

Today the West Side Story painting of the female dancers is done.  Took it to the MS group, they liked it and then to the Paramount for hanging during the performances.  exciting............

Starting to want to create

The funeral is over and Ray is laid to rest, life is staring to feel normal. Sad he is gone, but happy he is not in pain.  My heart is broke, but my mind wants to create something for the family......................

Art show exhibit

I went to view the library exhibit, it's a small show 15 pieces, but it's all Shakespeare. I have photos of the entire show, my piece fit in well.

Shakespeare painting is turned in!!

Well, it's turned in and ready to hang for a show until  May 15th.  I like it more as it was hanging in the house for a few days, was told the wired hangar can be stretch straight across , that way the wall hangar won't show, but mine was short enough so it was no problem to hang. Met Vicky, her and Sean put up work for the show, as did LaVona, Jodi Ligeros, didn't recognize Heidi, her hair is down to her shoulders, looks pretty good. Kat has a great photo of Rurick in costume for the middle ages will fit into the show real well.  Feels good to turn some work in.

I have been consumed with collaging 16"x20" stretched canvas, I just keep changing up my ideas, it will be great!!!

Well, today I was offered  to do a one person show in north VA near Washington DC, My friend Carol Kerfeld works for MITRE Corp, a non profit.  Wow, I'll have to think about that.

Snowstorm

How can we create art when we have 10' OF SNOW TO REMOVE FROM THE DRIVEWAY????
 we created a bed to lie on in the snowbank, with pop holders, now is that a creation or just fun??? All art is fun....................

art-o-mat kits are here

Wow a snowstorm is on the waay and the kits came in the mail. I'm really glad to get the kits, now we know what materials are to be used. Paper, blocks and cellphane are not what we thought it would be. Daryl got his kit, he's ready to go................ I'm busy getting ready for a snow storm................. exciting.....

Art projects in my head

How can one have so many art projects in the mind and no big interest in creating on a surface, I guess family issues can get in the way, Jodi's Dad having surgery, she is not doing well with this, her grandpa had surgery yesterday, My uncle Ray was told 2-5 months with his cancer, my girlfriends sister died of cance, my other friend was just told she has vaginal cancer, Roland seems to be coming down with a virus, and more.............

Well it's been a wrap up day for the show. Hangers attatched, labels made, name cards in print, now to set up rides.......... I am pleased at how things are turning out. 

Creating for the show Sunday

Well I'm trying to wrap up the new pieces today, get them ready for hanging.  Printed up a few new cards. Fun, but my legs are tired from standing. I also ordered the prototype kits for Art-O-Mat.  Just love the skins and transfer method for my prints.

Well tomorrow is my deadline to get all the paintings done for the show, I;m w2orking with skins, love it!!

BUMMER DAY

It's kinda hard to create and get a good idea, when a friend passes and have a show to get ready for.

Busy painting

The past few days I have been busy with art. Artomat has contacted and now I know more, the prototype kit will answer my questions. I have been painting, collaging and making skins like crazy, fun have to be ready for Feb. 12 show. what a good release from the crazy at home.

Computer is fixed!!

Well it's been crazy, my computer is finally fixed, the internet explorer  was not optomized.....??? Took a total of 6 hours with technicians to fix it, my head is still spinning.  I have been doing some painting getting ready for the Feb 12 show.  Fun

Art for All

Today a freelance writer published an  article about my art. It was a great article and said all I wanted to say, and a picture of my for the judged Trocolor show was included.  It's in Plymouth MN and will be up until April 30th.  I feel good about this, after all of the saddness in my heart due to Ed Cowley dying, my 3 uncles ill, my cousin, my brother and friends. That cancer can do a number.

Interview

I was interviewed for a feature article in the Fine Arts column of the St. Cloud Times, MN featuring myself and my painting "Four Part Pansy" that was judged and  will be exhibited at Trusight Inc in Plymouth MN. sponsored by VSA MN and Trusight Inc. from January 4 - April 30th 2012. The show is called "Trucolor - Celebrating Shades of Inclusion" The article will be January 19th 2012.   I am so excited, and during this time I am saddened to say I have 5 people in my life suffering from Cancer and  an uncle suffering from a massive heart attack. So many emotions.
